WELCA Designated Outreach
Robin’s Home provides transitional housing for women veterans and their children. They have expanded their services to include peer support for veterans from five counties. The Veterans Home Resource Center also offers employment assistance, education, community involvement, and health care advocacy.
They are also requesting $25.00 gift cards to Aldi, Walmart, or Visa. These cards are given to new residents so they can purchase personal items or food for their stay. Gift cards may be dropped off at the church office.
Thank you in advance for your support! Trinity has always been a generous, caring, and supportive community. For questions, please talk to Linda Cunningham.
The craft and lunch are still being finalized but there is a sign-up sheet in the narthex so they can plan ahead to get a count on how many craft supplies to have and how much food to prepare. Come and enjoy some creative time and good company. This is open to the whole family.
We’re diving into The Help by Kathryn Stockett for our next lively discussion on November 20th at 7:00 p.m. — and you’re warmly invited!
We’ll gather in the cozy Youth Room downstairs, where great conversation and community come together. Whether you’ve read the book or just want to listen in, we’d love to have you — and feel free to bring a friend!
This event is open to everyone in the community, so come share your thoughts, enjoy some fellowship, and discover the power of storytelling.
About the Book: The Help, Kathryn Stockett's debut novel, tells the story of black maids working in white Southern homes in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi, and of Miss Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, a 22-year-old graduate from Ole Miss, who returns to her family's cotton plantation, Longleaf, to find that her beloved maid and nanny, Constantine, has left and no one will tell her why. Skeeter tries to behave as a proper Southern lady: She plays bridge with the young married women; edits the newsletter for the Junior League; and endures her mother's constant advice on how to find a man and start a family. However, Skeeter's real dream is to be a writer, but the only job she can find is with the Jackson Journal writing a housekeeping advice column called "Miss Myrna." Skeeter knows little about housekeeping, so she turns to her friend's maid, Aibileen, for answers and finds a lot more.
